Spirit Tree Parent Coaching
As a parent coach professional, I understand how overwhelmed and ill-equipped parents can feel raising a teen or young adult. Being a parent is the most rewarding experience in the world, and the most challenging even in the most normal of circumstances. The challenges seem even more troubling and insurmountable when your child has…
School or academic issues • Learning disabilities • Social adjustment difficulties
Mental illness • Family dynamic issues
What I do.
That is where I come in. A parent coach provides a safe, supportive environment for you to focus on your challenges as a parent, strategize new tools and solutions, and be at your best even when things are at their worst. To ensure you are able to help your child leave the nest and lead a self-reliant, happy and fulfilling life.
I use a strengths-based coaching model that allows you to explore and gain the skills, motivation and confidence to parent more effectively. I help you to shift from a path of limitation to one of possibility and see opportunities for growth and change by understanding current unhealthy patterns and disrupting them in ways that establish trust, communication, balance and hope. Foundational to my work are these four guiding principles:
Presence: Be here and now
Wisdom: Trust our internal compass
Balance: Practice Strength and Flexibility
Fulfillment: Discover joy
How I do it.
First, I have you complete an intake form and I listen. I want to fully understand your values, strengths, motivation, hopes, fears, and family dynamics. Then, I work with you collaboratively to develop goals and a personalized action plan addressing your immediate and future concerns while supporting you as you begin to implement new strategies, skills and techniques to your parenting.
Coaching is a thought provoking, creative process that helps you to maximize your strengths and potential. My role as a parent coach is to help you stay focused, motivated, and optimistic so you continue to move forward through this process. Parent coaching may include your teen, or partner in the process. Each situation is different and addressed as needed.
I’ve been there.
